High-stakes, contingent-fee litigation is what we do at Boyd, Powers & Williamson. High-stakes cases are often appealed, and we plan for that possibility from day one. Working on a contingent basis allows our clients and referring lawyers to retain us earlier in the process to protect the verdicts we obtain for our clients, preserve error at trial, defend post-trial motions, and defend or bring your appeal. Whatever the stage, we’re ready to hit the ground running.
Our appellate practice is led by attorney Scott Lindsey. Board Certified in Civil Appellate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, Scott has been in practice for 20 years and formerly served as senior staff attorney to Justice Anne Gardner on the Second Court of Appeals. Now, he works on high-stakes matters involving every aspect of civil appellate cases, petitions for writ of mandamus, complex and case-dispositive motions, trial and appellate strategy, and much more.
Scott’s experience gives our firm special insight into the appellate process and the standards of appellate review. Thoroughly understanding Texas statutory and common law and the rules of appellate and civil procedure often makes the difference between success and failure. Our clients want results and have come to rely on our expertise and our ability to craft strategic solutions with the best chance of success in the courtroom.
